Since Moore Park itself is nestled between ravines, the neighbourhood has no main street or high street area, but it’s very close to the vast variety of shops, restaurants, and amenities at Yonge & St Clair, on Mount Pleasant Road, and on Bayview Avenue.

Dining

Moore Park residents have access to countless restaurants, bars, and cafes at Yonge & St Clair. You have your choice between big chains like Tim Hortons or Starbucks and smaller options including La Barista Café and JJ Bean Coffee Roasters. Scallywags is the go-to spot for sports lovers to catch a game and has a fantastic year-round patio. We also recommend Holy Chuck for some of the city’s best burgers, Union Social Eatery, Mary Be Kitchen for healthy eats, The Bagel House, and Kiva’s Bagel Bar.

Schools

Most kids in Moore Park start their school career at either Whitney Junior Public School or Deer Park Junior and Senior Public School, which is a feeder school for North Toronto Collegiate Institute and Northern Secondary School.

Many residents choose to send their children to nearby private schools such as Branksome Hall, Bishop Strachan School, York School, Upper Canada College, or Crescent School. Our Lady of Perpetual Help is the local Catholic school and typically ranks well on the Fraser Report. Many parents also choose to send their kids to St. Michael’s College School or De La Salle College.

Parks & Recreation

Moore Park is flanked by a ravine system, with the Vale of Avoca and Yellow Creek in the west and the Beltline Trail and Mud Creek in the east. Mount Pleasant Cemetery is to the north, which many people use for running and cycling. David Balfour Park Trail (along Yellow Creek in the Vale of Avoca) and the Beltline Trail (along Mud Creek) both join up with the Park Drive Reservation Trail. You can get to Evergreen Brick Works along these trails, too. Moorevale Park is also home to the Moore Park Tennis Club and has a very popular playground with swings, climbers, and a wading pool.

Accessibility

Moore Park offers terrific proximity to the heart of the city. You can drive south on Mount Pleasant Road to Jarvis Street for surprisingly quick access to the Financial District and downtown core, or take the Bayview Extension and Don Valley Parkway to head north to the 401 or 404. St Clair station is within walking distance to most of the neighbourhood, while the 74 and 99 bus routes run through the area.

Homes

There’s no denying the modest sense of accomplishment that owners feel in buying here, as the homes offer stately value without being ostentatious. Opportunities in Moore Park tend to be rare and competitive, with a trend towards younger families moving in as longer established residents move on to condo living or properties with lower property maintenance concerns.
